Tino Kasi was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe and studied law combined with business studies at the University of Staffordshire in England before immigrating to Canada in 2004. Following this, she graduated from the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law in 2007 and was called to the Bar in 2008.
Her practice is primarily focused on insurance and commercial litigation matters, including marine accidents, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, farm accidents, coverage opinions, property damage, product liability, environmental liability, professional liability, accident benefits and inter-insurer disputes.
Tino has extensive trial experience, including complex jury trials. She has represented insurers, corporations and individuals at trial and complicated motions on a number of areas of the law including medical practice, rental, auto and employment sectors.
Shernaz Patel was raised in Mississauga, Ontario, and moved to London in 2017 to pursue her law degree at the University of Western Ontario. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2020, earning both her JD and the Dean’s Certificate in Global Sustainability, and was called to the Bar in 2021. Prior to attending law school, Shernaz was a student athlete at the University of Toronto. She was named an Academic All Canadian for graduating with distinction while being a valuable member of the national championship winning swim team.
Shernaz’s practice involves acting for insurers in a variety of disputes including motor vehicle litigation, coverage opinions, occupier’s liability claims, and professional liability claims. Prior to joining Kasi Law, Shernaz articled at a prominent mid-sized full service firm in London. She gained a breadth of litigation experience, acting for insurers in subrogation claims, motor vehicle litigation, property damage, and carrier liability, and assisting corporate clients on an ongoing basis with respect to their employment interests. She has represented clients at hearings, Small Claims Court, and on motions before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
